What to Expect

A Mentor Is...

Mentoring Is…
  • A mutual relationship
  • A place to simply be you
  • A safe place to talk
  • A relationship that includes the whole family
  • A place to learn and grow

After proper training, our mentors are carefully matched to a student for the school year. Matches meet one-on-one for one hour, once per week, at school. During that time, students and mentors can spend time:

  • Talking and learning about things that are important to the your mentee
  • Reading
  • Playing games
  • Working on homework
  • Building social skills

The relationships built during this time provide the extra emotional, social, and academic support that every student needs throughout life.
